Welcome to Grow and Evolve Counseling

Supporting adolescents and young adults through compassionate counseling, comprehensive evaluations, and educational advocacy—so they can grow, evolve, and thrive.

At Grow and Evolve Counseling we know that adolescence and young adulthood can be a challenging time not only for the individual but also for the adolescent and young adult’s family, caregivers, and teachers. At Grow and Evolve Counseling, the goal is to allow adolescents and young people to feel supported, heard, and cared for, and provide a space for young people to be themselves and grow and evolve into themselves.

Services Offered

All services are conducted through private pay.
A payment plan is available as appropriate to accommodate financial needs.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is designed around the adolescents and young adults’s needs. Counseling sessions focus on developing and supporting emotional and behavioral regulation strategies and allow for the individual to better understand themselves and the world around them. A consistent goal within counseling sessions is to allow the individual to build their behavioral and emotional regulation skills so they can self-advocate and feel more confident navigating the world around them.

Comprehensive Evaluations (including independent educational evaluations):

  • Comprehensive evaluations offered target specific cognitive, social, emotional, and behavioral factors that will then be used to inform how a young person performs in school and at home.

  • The goal of targeted evaluations is to provide additional information about what accommodations or specially designed instruction may be necessary for a young person to make academic, social, emotional, and behavioral progress.

  • Evaluations are available for students in middle school, high school, and college. Comprehensive evaluations have been utilized to support a young person in receiving additional support from school IEP teams, or independent school placement, and access to college disability access.

  • The comprehensive evaluation process starts with a phone intake session where we discuss what challenges you may be encountering, including home and school behaviors issues.

  • After our initial phone call, if you select to complete an evaluation, the next step is scheduling testing times, completing background information paperwork, and completing rating scales to provide a full picture of the young person’s functioning.

  • The testing session process can vary in length and can be broken into several sessions if necessary. Specific tests are selected based on your referral concern and serve to directly answer questions about your young person’s cognition, social emotional profile, problem solving abilities, and attentional profile.

  • Once the evaluation is completed, we will meet for a feedback session to discuss results of the testing and diagnostic impressions. This meeting will be followed by a written report, which will include a review of the testing results and recommendations. I am also more than willing to meet with school based teams to go over findings and recommendations.

  • Note that these evaluations are not covered by insurance.

  • Cost for these evaluations is $1250 for a comprehensive psychological evaluation, and $500 for academic evaluation. These prices are similar to those of other agencies.

Educational Consultation and Advocacy :

Educational consultation focuses on supporting families and schools in creating individual education plans or related service plans that best fit a student’s needs. Comprehensive review and analysis of relevant documents is a primary aspect of consultation. Services may include attendance at school or service provider based meetings as well as written summaries and/or recommendations.

Testimonials

  • Student Testimonial: “I’m not afraid to use my voice.”

"The day I met Brian right before my freshmen year of high school, I felt like I’d known him for years. He’s one of those people you can just click with, sort of like a best friend while still  maintaining that needed professionalism. He genuinely cares about the people he works with, which helps tremendously in achieving whatever goals you have in mind. For me, I had many issues that needed attention, like transitioning back into school after in-patient care. Or even things such as talking louder and gaining confidence. Now, going into my senior year, I feel fully acclimated and I am not afraid to use my voice! If you are willing to put in the work with Brian, you can expect enormous success in your pursuit of happiness."

  • Parent Testimonial: Helped our son build stability, self-awareness, and a future.

“Brian is an extremely talented psychologist. Our son, diagnosed with major depressive disorder and anxiety at age 12, reached crisis level by 15. Brian served initially as our son’s high school psychologist for weekly sessions and as needed through crisis level depression. He’s been a mentor, trusted adult, and therapist to our son, guiding him along healthy, healing, and stable paths leading to HS graduation. He supported our son in building mental health skills and tools for daily living. Brian is an extraordinary individual. He leads with compassion, empathy, and tremendous clinical skills. He helped our son change his life direction to one with a future, stability, and self-awareness. Brian is a highly skilled clinician. We unequivocally recommend him!”

  • Parent Testimonial: “One of the most genuine, caring, and understanding professionals.”

Brian consistently went above and beyond to give my son skills to work through daily struggles with anxiety , teaching him to become more insightful and increasing his self esteem all while having fun.  Our son has progressed tremendously in so many different ways since working with Brian.  I would recommend Brian Provencher to anyone who is looking for a dedicated, passionate , easy to talk to psychologist that caters to each persons individual’s needs."

  • Parent Testimonial: “He helped our daughter find her footing.”

“When our daughter started to shut down emotionally and life/school became a daily battle for her, we didn’t even know how to start finding the right support for her. Brian guided us through the full evaluation process, coordinated with our pediatrician, worked with her 1:1 and helped us secure an IEP that actually worked. More than that, he helped our daughter find her footing not just in school, but in how she sees herself and shows up for life now.”

  • Parent Testimonial: “From crisis to thriving—Brian changed our son’s life.”

“Our son struggled with serious mental health issues and after multiple hospitalizations he entered a program led by Brian at our son’s high school. Brian provided exceptional support through counseling, educational guidance, and advocacy for accommodations. With his warm and humorous personality, Brian built trust with our son that allowed the two to discuss emotional challenges and develop tools for managing them. Furthermore, Brian always kept us in the loop, helping us understand and reinforce the work he and our son were doing together and enabling us to develop our own communication lines with our son.  In no small part due to Brian, our son’s high school experience went from being at risk for suicide to a thriving and happy student who got into his first-choice college and is currently excelling in his studies and personal life. We are eternally grateful to Brian for all he provided to our son and, indirectly, to us.”
